Meet Our 2018 Every Shingle Heart Recipients

Our annual Every Shingle Heart initiative was created because we knew there was a need in our community that we were uniquely able to fill. Our first year of Every Shingle Heart we set out to provide one roof to a family in need but after hearing so many stories we knew we had to do more and ended up providing three roofs to three amazing families.

Earlier this summer we started our 2nd Annual Every Shingle Heart Initiative. The plan was to give three free roofs to three families in need. We are so excited and honored to reveal our recipients of our 2018 Every Shingle Heart Initiative. We were privileged to learn the stories of many families this year and it has weighed heavily on us as we tried to pick just three to help. Our ultimate goal with Every Shingle Heart was to bring our community together and help as many people as possible. With this in mind, we have chosen to select a local organization as the third recipient of our 2018 Every Shingle Heart Initiative.

Reliant Roofing is pleased to announce their final recipient of the 2018 Every Shingle Heart Initiative to the Samaritan Food Pantry based out of Macclenny, Florida. This is the first year that Reliant Roofing has included a non-profit in their annual Every Shingle Heart Initiative which provides new roofs to the community. Earlier this year, Reliant Roofing announced in a surprise ceremony their selection of two local families to receive new roofs.

CEO Sean Shapiro says,  “Our ultimate goal with Every Shingle Heart was to bring our community together and help as many people as possible. With this in mind, we have chosen the Samaritan Food Pantry as the third recipient of our 2018 Every Shingle Heart Initiative. This organization provides food and other supplies to those in need. Their volunteers are the nicest people, who truly care about the individuals who live in their community. Their facility has been damaged heavily by hurricanes and hail, and we felt that the food pantry deserved to have someone help them for a change.”

Reliant Roofing will begin replacement of the new roof on Saturday, November 17th. That day, the team will also be hosting a food drive to benefit the Samaritan Food Pantry. Non-perishable Thanksgiving Dinner food items can be dropped off between 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Donations will also be accepted November 1st – November 19th. Items can be dropped off from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. at United Christian Church located at 590 North 7th Street, Macclenny, Florida, 32063.

Pastor Mitch Rhoden of the Samaritan Food Pantry says, “”We appreciate anybody that can help us feed 1000 people or more per month. Reliant Roofing is helping us do what God has called us to do, which is help care for the residents in our community in Baker County. We are just so appreciative and thankful for the roof replacement donation along with the Thanksgiving food drive that Reliant Roofing is hosting on our behalf. We feed 1000 people or more a month and that number will be even higher during the holiday months. The need for help here is great, so this roof and food donation is such a blessing and we can’t express enough how much we appreciate all the help!”
